Situated in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, 2,200 mts. above sea level, the Mountain Shelter Forni is run by the Colturi family. Built about the middle of the nineteenth century and entirely restored, the mountain shelter enjoys an enviable location at the centre of the Ortler-Cevedale Range, at a distance of only 5 km. from S. Caterina Valfurva and 18 km. from Bormio. In springtime the mountain shelter Forni is an excellent point of arrival and departure for skitouring and snowshoe excursions; in summer there are innumerable easy walks, also suitable for families with children, nature, historical and ethnographic excursions, rock and ice climbing and ascents to the highest peaks. |
